Yes, there are. We have attempted to emphasize fundraisers which do not involve the type of door-to-door sales
upon which so may school fundraisers seem to rely. For example, the Kroger’s Gift Card program simply requires that
you pay for your usual food purchases with your re-bootable gift card, rather than a check, cash or credit card. You can use
check, cash or credit card to re-boot your card. Other examples of how you can support the Beechwood Band Boosters fundraising
efforts include:
o Remke’s Market –
You pick up a card from Remke’s and designate on your card that your sales percentage will go towards the Beechwood
Band. And everytime you shop at Remke’s and use your card the band profits.
o Scripp’s Gift Certificates –
This gift-certificate program covers a variety of stores, restaurants and other businesses. Each participating vendor contributes
a percentage of your purchase to the Beechwood band program. (The actual percentage of the contribution varies from vendor
to vendor.)Order forms for Scripp’s Gift Certificates are sent home with all Elementary School students. They’re
also available from both the Elementary and High School offices. This fundraising activity is currently organized by Mary
Todd (426-7580).
o Yard Sale- In addition to
the previous examples, we organize a number of annual activities which help raise funds for the various Beechwood music programs.
The success of each of these fundraising efforts relies on varying degrees of member participation. Sometimes we just need
“warm bodies”, for other events, a more active involvement is required. These additional fundraisers include:
Cincinnati Cavalcade of Customs (usually
held in late January)
Yard Sale (held one Saturday
of May)
Light-Up Ft. Mitchell (December)
McDonald’s “Burger Bash” (held
the first Wednesday of every month 5-8 p.m.)
